‘SCALEXTRIC’ TEAM BUILDING RALLY CHALLENGE
This event is based on individual racing against the clock. Only one car on the track at any time. One car uses both lanes. The fastest times depend on the skill of the driver and the preparation of the car. Additionally, the choice of operating voltage adds to the competitiveness of the event. This unique style of event enables a team to participate individually without the element of luck or the chance of being unfairly ‘mis-marshalled’ or being ‘taken out’ by a competitor.
The Slot32 Rally challenge requires a driver and a number of marshals. The driver is responsible for driving the car and the marshals responsible for keeping the car on the track.
The winning team will be the team that completes 3 rally circuits in the best time.
Track timing devices are accurate to 1/1000 second.
Team size 3-4 people.

Slot 32 will provide an introductory lecture and demonstration ion to the technical aspects of setting up a car and racing. Technicians will be available to help the teams with technical and racing technique advice.
Each team given a credit smart card enabling the ‘scalextric’ car to be tested for predetermined sessions thus each team will have exactly the same amount time to prepare and set up their car.
Each team will receive a car that can be fitted with 3 types of shock absorber, 2 types of pinion and axle gears and two types of tyres.
Teams use their allocated practice sessions to ‘build’ a car for the Rally challenge.
Various voltages are available, each team decides the best voltage based on their practice time results.
Once the car is built each team decide how they will compete in the rally challenge.
ie decide the driver and who marshals where and optimum gearing, voltages etc
We suggest 60-90 minutes for preparation and testing and half hour for the rally race.
An extra unexpected surprise to make the event more challenging will be the track used for practice will be reversed for the final race!
Each rally track is 60-70 foot taking space 6 x 8 foot. ( if larger space permits the tracks can be correspondingly larger) If more than 1 track is they can be amalgamated to form a double circuit.
